Thigh Liposuction

Liposuction of Lateral Thigh

Liposuction of Lateral Thigh

The lower area of lateral thigh is an area where fat is easily accumulated especially for women. If fat is accumulated in the lower area below the crease between bottom and thighs, the area looks protruding as if the person is wearing riding breeches. A body shape like this makes the person have difficulties in choosing clothing, especially pants, and badly affects a style of dressing.

The fat accumulation in lateral thigh is the main problem making females have an inferiority complex starting from their late teens, late adolescence, to adulthood. This area is mostly resistant to even exercise and diet. Liposuction is effective for a problematic area that is resistant to efforts to lose weight like this.

In fact, lateral thigh is the area where liposuction is most frequently performed. Liposuction is an ideal method of improving the lateral thigh line. This is also an area where our patients that received a liposuction at our main hospital were the most satisfied after surgery. Liposuction of lateral thigh is often performed in tandem with liposuction of bottom and the back of thigh for a better body line. Liposuction of the entire thigh can reduce thigh circumference.

Those with lower body obesity can have a balance between the upper and lower body though liposuction. Most Korean females have moderate or thin upper body (above the waist) while they have lower body obesity with obese thighs and bottom (both are below the waist.). As the lower body is included in areas where fat is easily accumulated and is not easily lost, you can have a balance between the upper and lower body through liposuction. If the fat in lateral thigh is removed through liposuction, choice of clothing can be easier, that is, you can wear skinny jeans or lower body-hugging tight knit skirts, etc.

Liposuction of Medial Thigh

Some of those with lower body obesity have medial thigh where the excessive amount of fat is accumulated. In this case, it looks unattractive and can cause problems in real life. Dermatitis or skin discoloration (by a crease) can occur due to the friction between both thighs with lots of fat during walking. This area can be corrected through liposuction like other areas. When liposuction of this area is performed, liposuction of medial knee is mostly performed simultaneously so that the entire medial thigh line including the knee area can be beautifully corrected.

Liposuction of Posterior Thigh

Some of those with lower body obesity have the posterior thighs (below the bottom) with lots of fat. Their posterior thighs have cellulite (uneven skin) and a horizontal crease as well as fat. In this case, liposuction with an ultrasound fat cavitation machine and cannulas (with a small caliber) can be performed to create smooth thighs. If fat is accumulated in the area right below the crease between bottom and thighs, the symptom is often called Banana Roll. The symptom may make the area seem like that it has another small bottom even with the outer thigh where fat is accumulated. This problematic area can be corrected through liposuction so that the thigh line below the crease between bottom and thighs becomes smooth.

Many of those having the posterior thighs with lots of fat have the indefinite boundary between bottom and thighs. If the thigh line is corrected through liposuction, the boundary becomes definite, so that legs can look long and hips can look lifted (hip-up). Liposuction of posterior thigh is often performed in tandem with liposuction of bottom, the outer thighs, and inner thighs.
